Does anyone know where I can get Aji its a carrebean sweet peeper use to make spanish sofrito in the Phoenix area
Been awhile since my last visit to the Phoenix area, but I recall noting a healthy sized Vietnamese food community. Culantro is also used in Viet cuisine, and at home I buy it at Vietnamese supermarkets. So i would try some place like Lee Lee's International. And maybe the store has aji dulce too since it covers the globe.
Please keep us posted on what you find.
Have you tried AJ's or Sprouts? They both have extensive selections of produce that you wouldn't find at a regular grocery store.
I would suggest trying the Arizona International Marketplace at Broadway & Dobson in Mesa. Although its primary focus in on Asian food, it has a huge produce department with substantial sections devoted to other cuisines from throughout the world.
