Our office is planning a dinner for about 50 people on a Sunday night in March.
Most, not all, will be from out of town.
UCLA/Westwood is where we are holding meetings all day Sunday, so we'd like something close, the closer the better, but would probably consider as far away as Santa Monica or Beverly Hills or Brentwood. Downtown, Pasadena, South Bay, the Valley would all be too far.
The folks are all senior executives, so we need something nice. They are from all over the country, so we need something where they can mingle before or after dinner. They want to hang out after a long day of formal meetings.
A private room would be ideal.
We need a bar, most will want the option of ordering a drink.
As for food, well, it would be great if we could find someplace suggestive of California/Los Angeles. Something upscale and Asian or Mexican or some fusion of chows that say "I'm in Los Angeles and I can't get this exact type of food in New York/Chicago/Washington D.C." (Maybe not literally, because I've no doubt those cities have fine cuisines from around the globe, but, well, you know what I mean.)
With the above condition noted, I'd also be interested in recs that don't scream "California" provided they meet the other criteria.
For what it's worth, we are already considering The W in Westwood and Luxe in Brentwood, but I'd love to read recommendations of those places if you have them, because we're just going on rep, not necessarily going by our own experience.
Thanks in advance ...
