We'll be visiting Chicago soon, and are hoping for a dinner of as authentic northern Italian food as possible. For reasons of nostalgia (we used to live in LP) and logistics, we'd like Lincoln Park, if possible (we'll be staying downtown). Based on what I've been able to find, Merlo and Trattoria Gianni both sound like good possibilities. I'd love more details on either of those, or any other good nominees in Lincoln Park. Thanks!
Other factors: Price is somewhat no object, though we'd prefer not to break the bank. We'll have our two kids with us, but they are well-behaved adventurous eaters. And being able to make reservations in advance is a good thing.
