Real Cemitas in Sunnyside - woot

Mi Nuevo Rancho - the questionable looking place on Greenpoint ave and 43rd.

After driving by for a couple years en route to Coatzingo for a cemita fix I was short on time so gave it a shot. It was lunch, the place was dark, nearly empty and a bit sad looking. My hopes were not too high, so I was happily surprised.

It had everything needed to make my favorite mexican sammich. The soft egg bread, avocado, beans, salsa, onions, papalo and a hunk of quesillo. I got mine with grilled chicken so I could taste the other ingredients. Although my experience with this sandwich is limited to TC and TJ they are well regarded in that category and I feel I can strongly say this was a very good alternative. Especially if you're in the area and you've got the urge. It was sloppier than Coatzingo's version, but not overly so. Everything stayed in the bun, just the juice from the beans and salsa. In that way it was juicier than TC. I would definitely recommend hitting this spot. I cannot vouch for anything else here. There was a single posting on yelp, a negative one, but does anyone here take restaurant advice from yelp.
