So we've acquired a small bottle of genuine 25-year-old balsamico (a gift from a Modenese friend whose cousin made the stuff).
so far, all we do is take turns flipping the bottle with our thumbs placed over the opening, licking off the viscous ambrosia that remains on our thumbs, and then falling into raptures. I suppose we could do this forever. I've tried a few drops over strawberries or august tomatoes, but still feel that, like caviar, it's really best on its own. Any suggestions?
