"raw" olives?

at a party i was served some "raw" olives. They were large, green, and much less briney then regular olives. since then i have bought actual raw olives, and found out of course the hard way that they are totally inedible and would require 2 weeks' curing at home. Anybody know of a less-cured, large green olive that might pass as "raw" if served to a slightly drunk girl???
