I haven't made chopped liver in a while, but when I went shopping today it seems like none of the butchers (or even ShopRite!) sells raw, either fresh or frozen) chicken liver. I live in central New Jersey.
Oh please tell me this is not some new mishigas. Was the sticker "Liver must be broiled prior to use" not sufficient for the powers that be?
Or, I hope, I hope, is this just something local going on here. I go to NYC quite often, and from the website it looks like Park East sells liver, but they're closed now so I can't call them. Most supermarkets in Jewish areas used to sell frozen Empire chicken liver. Dowes anyone know if the still do?
This would be so unfortunate.
