The Ravioli Store

The Ravioli Store on Sullivan Street (next to Grandaisy bakery nee Sullivan Street bakery) has closed. There was a sign in the window that said they were continuing wholesale operations (I think it said from a factory in one of the boroughs). It referred to their web site, but that hasn't been updated.

We've always loved their black bean ravioli, which my wife serves with a mexican style salsa cruda (tomatoes, onions, cilantro and olive oil). Before this store opened we were getting a very similar (or perhaps the same) ravioli at Dean & DeLuca for twice the price. Haven't been to D&D lately, so I don't know if they still sell it, but I need a new Manhattan location to buy it!

I also really liked their spinach and artichoke ravioli, which was delicious with just butter sauce. If you've seen these in any food shops in the village or chelsea I'd love to know...
