So, I found myself at the Shallow Water Fishing Expo on Hwy. 19 in Pinellas Park, (why? don't ask) and naturally looked at the eating opportunities rather than at the rods and tackle. A chef from a new restaurant about to open in Tampa, Rattlefish, was there serving samples of a smoked mahi mahi spread that was just phenomenal. Less smoky tasting than the fish spreads available at the much beloved Ted Peter's, with a smooth, buttery texture and a lovely oniony flavor. Picked up an abbreviated menu, and noted a raw bar, made to order bouillabaisse and grilled fish featured. Also, a big deck planned. Will definitely give this place a try based on that wonderful spread. Opening December 10, in Tampa, on Tyson Avenue, south of Gandy Boulevard.
