It was first friday and about -20 degrees outside. I dove in the door of rangoon in chinatown thinking another minute in the cold would render my reproduction organ broken. After about a 20 min wait we sat down. We had the Thousand layer bread, where was amazing. Spicy, somewhat greasy, but lots of flavor. The Ginger salad had a great texture and taste. Lots of crunch and crisp. Ginger, cabbage, peanuts, dried shrimp, fish sauce, etc. tasty!
For an entree I had curried fish cakes. The sauce was amazin and the fish was good too, I just wanted the fish to be a bit more tender. You end up chewing it for too long. Alexis had the mango tofu and it was ok. Tasted a bit like BBQ sauce.
The apps where spectacular and the food was ok. I need to explore the menu more, so I will be back.
The service was good enough considering how busy they where. The server forgot my beer, but the place was packed!
