Rancho Nicasio Restaurant, Nicasio

Went Sunday with hubby and 2 friends up to the Rancho Nicasio for lunch and check out where one of our friends had gotten into an accident and died.

It is next to the post office, and there is a bar as well - from the looks of it, there are various musical acts that play there, and during the summer, they have BBQs.

We sat outside on the deck, and the waitress brought our menus and asked for our drink orders immediately.

We decided on 1/2 dozen each of 4 different kinds of oysters: raw, BBQ, Baked garlic with asiago cheese, and oysters Rockefeller. We also got the chicken quesadilla, and the fried calamari, and the baked spinach/artichoke dip. The oysters were awesome, chicken quesadilla was very good (good cheese/chicken ratio), and the calamari was good (not too much batter). The only disappointment was the spinach/artichoke dip, which was mostly spinach, and kind of bland. There was melted cheese on the top, but the rest of it was kind of thick and it seemed like it wasn't that hot.

Overall, it's a nice place to hang out, and check out the music if you get a chance.
