A friend recently came across an article someplace extolling the wonders of real ramen. Not the weird little "add boiling water" packets one gets in the store, but the original product as sold by ramen shops. The article described lines down the block at all hours for a good shop, the exquisite nature of the product itself, the incredible temperature at which it is served and slurped, and portion sizes where a "small" feeds a family of four, and a "large" is a cauldron suitable for platoon in Iraq.

Whoever wrote this thing got him hooked on the idea of finding a "real" (or surreal, as the case may be) ramen shop.

The Chowhound Question - is there a "real" ramen shop in the Baltimore/DC area? If so, where is it, and do you think it could possibly match up to the hype?
