Ralph's in the 'burbs

For those of you who may not be aware of it, Ralph's Italian restaurant is opening another place in Ambler, Montgomery Co. It is scheduled to open this coming week and is supposedly already booked for the week. The chef (Jimmy Rubino, who lives in Bucks Co.) will be splitting his time between the Ambler and South Philly locations.

The new location is in the old Ambler movie theater and will seat 200! The carving of Bacchus, the god of wine, on the facade of the building has been incorporated into their new logo for that location. Since Ambler is a short ride from where I live (Lansdale), I'm looking forward to being able to access good Italian food in the suburbs (a hard thing to do). But, I'm sure it won't be able to replace the old charm of South Philly, where I grew up.
