Raleigh: Larry's Take-Out now open

meatn3 | Nov 18, 201106:06 PM

The son of the owner of Larry's Southern Kitchen in Garner is involved in this venture which recently opened in the location of the closed Southern Flavor on N. Raleigh Blvd. at Glascock, just inside the Beltline.

I had dinner plans but stopped by for a look this evening. The place was hopping! The decor is still the same, upgraded fast-food style seating with some decorative accents. There is now a hot bar behind the partition where at least a dozen fresh looking dishes were available to box up. Even though it is "to-go", with the table there I'm sure you can eat in too.

I spoke briefly to a woman working who said daily specials will be offered along with the regular menu.
Items may be order by the plate w/ 2 sides or on its own. Menu ranges from fried, smothered or BBQ chicken to turkey wings, gizzards and pork chops. Chittlins come small, med. or large (3.75, 4.75 and 5.75) and are available daily. Pigs feet are a daily feature too.

Sides are available in 3 sizes ranging from $1 to $2.50. All the usual's including fries. Pintos rather than lima beans There are hot hush puppies and 8 sandwich options. Tonight there was a sign for banana pudding!

If you want Soul Food this looks like a terrific option!

I hope to try them soon and will report back. If they have a daily special of ox tails or the Charleston Supper that Southern Flavor had I'll be a very happy camper.
