We're planning our summer trip to Paris, and will be staying in the 11th, near the Filles de Calvaire metro. We are looking for neighborhood places that serve good food without necessarily a whole lot of buzz. Or put differently, we're looking for places that serve good value. One new place that I am looking to try is Les Chouettes for the beautiful interior if nothing else. We will likely go back to Ober Sale where we enjoyed the cooking and thought the service was really excellent. We're not big fans of oysters. We don't mind if it's a chef's fixed meal, and I would say we are a little bit but not totally adventurous. I'd say we like modern French, or "nouvelle bistro." Now I know it's not "under the radar," but wondered what people thought lately of Le Chateaubriand? Answering the question as to what foods we like, in the past we have really enjoyed Metropolitain on Rue de Jouy, and Le Galopin. We were very under-whelmed with Septime. (An impression that seems to have gained traction over the past year with other CHers.) Merci in advance.
