Quintessential B'More on Sunday or Monday?

Marty L. | Aug 7, 2004 05:06 PM

My sister and brother-in-law will be in Baltimore over the next couple of days, and I was hoping to give them a couple of suggestions on where to eat, and perhaps find a place to join them for dinner. Unfortunately, Soigne and the Chameleon Cafe are closed on Sundays and Mondays. And Faidley's is closed on Sundays.

Although I've read good things about Black Olive, the service and price/quality ratio both seem too risky (and I imagine the problems would be exacerbated on a Sunday or Monday in August).

The Helmand, perhaps? Brewer's Art? Blue Moon for breakfast or brunch? Ixia? (As you can see, I'm not wedded to any particular cuisine or price-point; mostly casual with one more upscale choice would be ideal.)

Is there a classic, *worthwhile* crab joint within shouting distance of downtown? (Obrycki's doesn't get a lot of attention on this Board, for some reason.)

Thanks in advance
