Hi. Due to an illness, I have short notice to book a table Saturday night, at or around 7 PM, for a group of eight high school friends who haven't seen one another in many years.
A restaurant with a *small* private room would work, but most rooms are too big, have food/drink minimums, etc.
Manhattan location, Chelsea/Flatiron/Gramercy/Noho/Soho/Village/East Village. For universal appeal, probably French, Italian, or American cuisine, though I'm desperate enough to consider other ideas.
It should be not-boisterous enough to allow adult conversation, but not so starched that we'll get 86ed if we turn back into idiots.
And to accommodate a variety of budgets, no more than $100 per person.
I'm grateful for any great suggestions the community can offer!
