WE've reached a point in life when we aren't willing to return to noisy experiences, no matter how good the food. Eating dinner at 5:30pm to avoid other patrons and reduce the noise level isn't always possible tho.
Two very large sites that never have excessive noise, even when full are Pho 75 on Adams Ave, Chun Hing behind the former Adams Mark in Bala area. Le Bec Fin, on the other end of the economic scale is also a restful place to dine, as is La Croix.
Would definitely welcome suggestions of other places to dine where food is great, but you can count on an acceptable noise level, at most times of the day.
What I am describing is either an age-related thing, or the places we sometimes choose to eat are simply unacceptably noisy all to often.
Great food, warm service and physically pleasant ambience just aren't enough if you have to scream to hear your companions talk!
