I am meeting a friend next week in the evening and we are looking for a place to have a drink and to talk not shout at each other. I am hoping for recommendations for a place for a drink and maybe bar food, beer, wine, cocktails. It'll be 8 PM-ish so it could also be outside.
Try Sidecar at Broadway and Country Club. If you get hungry, grab a pie at Falora around the corner.
Thanks again Miss Venuz you answered my Poco & Mom's question. I will give her this list to choose from and we'll get drinks and maybe something sweet. Zona78, Danté’s Fire, Jonathan’s Cork, Sidecar Bar. I did like the drinks menu at Sidecar, my test drink at a new bar is, "Gin martini, straight up, wet, three olives.", to see if they're listening.

Sidecar makes a very fine cocktail, and their bartenders are extremely knowledgeable. They frequently have specials that they work on, and can custom craft a drink based on your likes. Very competent, quiet bar with little pretentiousness. There is also a nice patio outside to drink on, if the weather permits. I know it may be a little out of the physical parameters that you set, but it is definitely worth the trip.
Outdoor seating puts it back on the list and I may just have to go myself as I like a well thought out mix, not the usual hurried bar drink.
So where did you end up going, and how was it?
Venuz,
We went to Danté's Fire I like the retro building, could do without the TVs but a good and smart server who gave us time while we chatted and forgot to look at the menu. I had the Key Lime Vereen which was not the best choice for a cooler evening maybe but we both enjoyed our cocktails.
Thanks for all the help I am going to try Sidecar next.
