Is there anything I should do/know to avoid looking like a dweeb to the wine steward at 3* restaurants?
For Example, in the US, Merlot and Chardonnay are considered less than imaginative choices and white zin is for cretins. Any similar prejudices in France?
Any other tips would be appreciated. I will probably be ordering by the glass or 1/2 bottle as my husband doesn't drink much. We may order a bottle of Champagne, just for kicks, any suggestions of a nice bottle that would be commonly available in Paris? My Champagne budget is probably $100, but I want fantastic bubbly at that price, Im not trying to impress anyone.
Thanks in advance.
