Left Houston late Saturday afternoon with a load of BBQ. Frank wolfed the brisket and beef sausage for dinner with some bread and butter and pickles.
Lunch Sunday was at the Flaming Torch on Octavia Street. I had the Shrimp Cocktail, followed by the Grilled Chicken Breast in Wild Mushroom Ragout. Frank had the Onion Soup followed by the Pasta with Shrimp and Artichoke.
The Flaming Torch is a solid uptown lunch choice.
Frank has been getting pizza and meatball sandwiches from The Italian Pie for dinner. He finds the food acceptable and they're very close to home. As far as anyplace else goes, he gets a zero in the reconaissance category because when he gets off he picks up dinner and goes home to the TV and telephone.
He's had lunch a couple of times at La Cote Brasserie though and said it was OK, but didn't really remember what they had because they were working lunches.
PJ's on Magazine - our favorite neighborhood coffee shop - opened back up Friday. I'm told that the late Saturday afternoon crowd on Magazine St. was THICK, and Sunday morning and afternoon the PJ's line was out the door.
