Need quick solo-lunch and family dinner advice in TO

Hi,

I will be in Toronto for an exhibition at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel soon. I'm trying to find a good place for lunch (saturday) in the area (walkable distance if possible).

Also, my wife and kids will join me for dinner that night so I'm also looking for a family-friendly but still interesting restaurant. The dinner doesn't have to be around the Fairmont Royal York as we won't be staying there. I am not looking for a fancy dinner but want to avoid chain restaurants at all cost.

Oh, and one last thing, I'm also a coffee, beer and single malt geek so if there are not to miss places that I should be aware off, I'm all ears.
