Quick Naples report...

As I promised, here is a quick run down on some eats from last week in Naples. We went to Campiellos for the first time in years and I will give it a B+. Casear salad was OK but needed more dressing and my daughter's pizza was bland. Main courses all scored with my Carmelized Balasamic short ribs with pasta the best. Other selections were Grouper, Pork loin chop, and daily special pasta dish. Homemade bread was good. Food is usually solid there but the scene at night from the bar (we ate outside) is worth an admission charge. My wife and I had sushi at Blu Sushi and it was good and fresh and resonable price-wise. We ate at the bar and it was just a little too "hip" for me with the new age music and funky atmosphere. I found it hard to relax there but the food was good. We went to 2 locals type places: Cove Inn for breakfast in the coffee shop and Harold's on Rt 41 for Grouper sandwiches and beer. They were both great! Cove Inn is the greasy spoon every town needs for quick, cheap, and really good grub. Great thin pancakes and the waitresses are wild. Harold's is a large tiki bar that serves burgers, grouper, etc. and I like the place. Paper plates, beer in cans, fight for your table kind of place but the grouper was fresh, fried, and yummy. Bar scene looks like a local pick up joint for 50+ singles and was a fun place to watch the crowd. Sort of a polar opposite to the 5th Ave. crowd you see downtown. Also got seafood to go from Swan River and was fresh as always (& pricey!)
