I have the following ingredients:
vanilla ice cream
strawberries soaked in vanilla schnapps, then frozen
I was initially going to serve this "as is" - i.e. thaw the berries and spoon 'em over the ice cream. Somehow this doesn't seem 'festive' enough though. What can I do to 'snazz' this up and make it a bit more sophisticated, on very short notice and with not very many existing ingredients?
I have stuff like vanilla and almond extracts; some chocolate sauce (but I feel like this is a cop-out); cinnamon, butter...can I do something with balsamic vinegar and pepper, or will that clash with the vanilla?
