Quick desserts for sour plums?

thursday | Mar 12, 2008 05:26 PM

I bought probably 10 or 12 plums from Trader Joe's about 10 days ago (maybe longer) and they're just not ripening. I'd like to make them into something quick, easy and yummy before they just outright spoil--maybe a Clafouti? I found a recipe on the site for a plum torte that also has possibilities, but wanted to get recs from chowhounders before I decide since these plums are particularly hard and sour--for ex., if I make a Clafouti, should I maybe sautee the plums with a little butter and sugar first to cut the sourness, or would that make the whole thing too cloying?

Any other recipes that I could throw together pretty easily are much appreciated, too!
