Quick Old Chicago Pizza Update

CMC | Jul 21, 2003 01:08 PM

Most importantly, the pizza is still great and Paul is still great and crazy--we were greeted with Paul rushing out with our pizza in hand saying "You can't escape my pizza!"

The update, though...A while back I posted that Old Chicago offers Greek Pizza. This isn't true. Not much on the very extensive menu is offered. In fact, even though the menu was printed after the move to 79th St, most of the menu was never offered (at least that's what I was lead to believe over the phone...I wanted to ask Paul but, as usual, he took me off-guard with his, um, Paulness). Moreover, the menu lists interestingly named and described items--it's almost as if Paul took a cue from the Museum of Jurassic Technology in Los Angeles. For example:Garlic Cheese Bread "Just Like it says, garlic bread with cheese and shrimp" (Or close to that, I don't have the menu in front of me).

Next time I go I'm going to be prepared for the initial blast of Paul and then ask him what the deal is.

PS I also had to stop in at Dat Donuts. As usual, the donut was great. I've been on a shake kick latley, though, so I gave one a try. Quite good. Very smooth, good flavor. HUGE size for $3.50 or so. Way too much shake, definitely going with the small next time.
