Questions about those donuts made from canned dough..

I hear these raved about on cooking shows.. I think they are canned biscuit dough dropped into oil.. I was wondering if they are actually good and if they need to be eaten immediately when warm or if they are good the next day.. I am thinking of making them and filling with pumpkin mousse to bring for Thanksgivukkah...
