Excuse my ignorance but I'm looking for some information on how a typical wine dinner works.
Several restaurants offer special dinners where featured wines will be paired with a set menu.
What I'm wondering is whether typically this is all that is involved or alternatively whether there is usually a presentation or discussion involving the winemaker or winemaker's rep.
Frankly I'd be interested in having a wine-themed dinner but I'm not really that into any discussion or speech about the wines (unless it was really short).
Any insight would be appreciated.
