question about Mexican and Tex-mex in Houston

coming to Houston | Sep 17, 2003 04:46 PM

I have done a lot of research on this board and have a question about tex-mex and mexican in Houston:

It seems the consensus on this board for tex-mex is Jalapenos, Chuy's, and El Tiempo Cantina (for fajitas), my question is this: I've been to Chuy's and liked the enchiladas, so are these other two restaurants head and shoulders better than chuy's? Or is Chuy's a good representative of tex-mex in Houston? Are there other good tex-mex places that I should sample, that are head and shoulers better than chuy's?

I've seen Tampico, Otilia, El Hid, Ninfa on Navigation, Pico, Hugos, and Tila's for Mexican food reccommended, are these the good mexican restaurants in Houston, or are they tex-mex? Are there any other favorite mexican places that are better than the above?
