Question on Katz's

Chuck | Aug 29, 2004 12:54 PM

For the first time, I'm going to stray from my rush to the Carnegie Deli that I make everytime I get a chance to return to the "Fatherland." This time, I am going to try Katz's...expecting perhaps a smaller sized sandwich, but one that will be hand sliced rather than machine sliced. Perhaps the pastrami will be even better? I cannot imagine that happening, but I am going to give it a try....We'll see.

I have one question. Hounds are saying one should get on line, show some tip money in one's hand when approaching the deli guys, and tell em what you want. Isn't that what Sally ended up doing?

I believe there is table service, too? So, do you get on line, get your own sandwiches for say 3 people, and then just sit down any place? Or, are there sections blocked off for waitress service vs those who've gone up to the counter for their food?

Thanks for the info.
