Question about Indonesian/Malaysian food in Queens

MTWfromCT | Jul 11, 2010 05:42 PM

Hey all! Strange question that i hope someone can answer--

I am coming down next saturday with a group of 11 and would really like to have us finish the day with something different. I am thinking of one of the Malaysian or Indonesian places discussed on the board, but I have someone with me who is SERIOUSLY allergic to seafood of any kind. I won't do Thai (no Sripraphi!), because I know almost everything is prepared with fish sauce, but I don't know about other Southeast Asian cuisines. Any thoughts? Filipino may be an alternative as well. Just need to make sure it is "safe", and I know from experience that it is hard to get the severity of the situation across to servers sometimes. Any thoughts or other alternatives would be appreciated. this is a group who is well travelled and willing to try anything different. Queens would be best as it is on the way home to CT.
