my query to the southwest: jalapeno poppers

John Hodgman | Nov 13, 200101:21 PM

I posted a similar query to the Texas board, but I also wish to poll the entire Southwest...

Is there a bar or restuarant that is famous for its stuffed jalapenos in the way Buffalo's Anchor Bar claims to be the birthplace of the Buffalo wing?

Specifically, I am speaking of jalapenos stuffed with cheese, then breaded and/or battered and deep fried--the antecedent of the now ubiquitous bar snack the "Jalapeno Popper" made by Anchor.

I don't want to be a double poster, so I will also ask this unique question: does anyone have a good recipe for same?

If I have breached etiquette, let me know. I just don't want to leave a stone unturned...
