My family just returned from an eleven-day tour of your wonderful province. Thanks to all of you Canadian chowhounds who posted your favorites and not so favorites, we were able to eat our way through Montreal, Mt. Tremblant, and Quebec.
I already posted our Montreal favorites on the Montreal board. In Mt. Tremblant, we enjoyed a few meals in the old village but stayed away from the Disney-like atmosphere of the new village. For a simple, inexpensive dinner, we liked Lorraine. We enjoyed Le Verre Bouteille in St. Joviet. We were so lucky to find the 1001 Pots Festival in Val-David!
In Quebec, we had a wonderful lunch (thanks for the tip in doing lunch instead of dinner) at Aux Anciens Canadiens, great seafood at Le Marie Clarisse. We enjoyed the location and the lively atmosphere of Pub D'Orsay. Our 12 year-old who loves fondue was very excited about Restaurant La Grolla.
On our half-day trip to Ile D'Orleans we bought some great maple syrups, jams and pates to bring home.
And thanks for the wonderful weather - we hit only two days of rain and both were travel days.
We look forward to another trip someday.
