My husband and I are about to move into a new house next month, and it has a deep freezer AND and an extra fridge/freezer in the basement (we're moving from a tiny 900 sqft place - I'm very excited!).
I've long wanted to do a bulk purchase of grass fed beef. I'm trying to decide if we should do a half or quarter. My thinking on the half is we can have it butchered more to my specifications - tenderloin vs. t-bones, etc. For a quarter share the cuts seem more standard with less room to customize.
On the other hand - a half a steer is a LOT of beef. We have the freezer space - I didn't get the specifications but it's a good size freezer. It's just the two of us though - we do have family and friends over but that's a lot of meat.
