Quarrel over Marinade-as-Sauce

My friend marinated chicken breasts for dinner, then heated up the marinade and served it over the cooked chicken. I strenuously objected. He believes that once a marinade boils for a few minutes, the bacteria from the raw chicken are killed.

Science whizzes, I need your help in convincing him that this is a potentially hazardous practice.
