Is there a purpose to the pattern on this pan bottom?

charlesherold | Aug 4, 201804:02 PM     10

Someone left a pan in the laundry room, where people leave things they're getting rid of, and it has this textured pattern on the bottom. And I thought, that must serve some purpose, maybe it's really good for some particular thing. So I googled around and I can't find anything about Bergdorff pans with textured bottoms. There's a bunch of stuff printed on the bottom - extra starker akkutherm sandwich Boden, 18/10 Edelstahl - but googling that gets me ebay sales that also don't have any information.

I have a couple of stainless steel pans already, so the question is: is there any particular reason to keep this one, or do I put it back in the laundry room?
