Purchasing a KitchenAid Mixer, I have a couple questions...

1. I'm a grad student, so $ matters. I think I'm going to buy a factory refurbished model. comes with a 6mo. manufacturer warranty. anyone think this is a huge mistake? (price difference is significant, with shipping artisan will be 180, accolade is 210 w/shipping).

2. I'm deciding between the artisan and the accolade. the only real diff between the 2 is that artisan is 325 watts and accolade is 400. they're both 5quart bowls. oh, and the artisan comes in prettier colors. i want to use the mixer to: make bread, make various baked goods, once i can afford the attachments to grind meat and to make ice cream. do i need (or should i get) the more powerful mixer?

tia for any advice y'all might have for me.
