Failing to find a frozen Duarte's pumpkin pie at Piazza's
my brother scored a pie from Original Hick'ry Pit on Wednesday. He said it was around ten bucks.
It was a good choice. The near cookie-like crust was still in pretty good shape on T-day. While the bottom was softened, the fluted edge still had a fresh crunch to it. The pumpkin custard was silken and eggy. The spicing seemed more harmonious and not as sharp as the run-of-the-mill pumpkin.
