ps1 for borough novice

i am planning to do ps1 warmup this saturday for the first time. as you may have guessed, i would like to use this as an opportunity to chow down, since i do not make it to boroughs very often (i'm in jersey). my tentative plan was to do dim sum in brooklyn chinatown(sunset park) and dinner in greek astoria. however, i read some negative things from this board about greek in astoria, including top dog jleff himself. is it really that bad? the thread i read was from 2001. btw, i just had a somewhat dissapointing experience in chicago greektown about a month ago (see my '10 days' post on chicago board). maybe there is a parallel? oh well, i just want some flaming cheese and some good gyros, is that too much to ask?

i am open to other suggestions, as well. as you may know, i am a huge fan of mexican food, expecially taquerias (but i am going to san fran the following weekend). i have done sripraphai many times, but i would not rule that out either. but i should try something new. boy, i think i need to start narrowing down my options. too bad i only have 2 meals to work with. help, please!
