Planning a RI weekend with friends and one has just discovered Waterfire will be lit approx. 6:45 the Saturday we are there. I have been and know it will be crowded. We had also planned on being in Newport that day and Newport is an hour away. I think a late lunch will work with a late dinner. Second friend has suggested I make reservations some place for 7:30 or 8pm.

We will probably have a meal on Federal Hill on Friday so I can eliminate that area. Can someone recommend a restaurant near Waterfire or on the way to Warren where we are staying? I haven't been to Providence in a few years but I know the places near Providence Place are always packed on Saturday nights. We would prefer not going to a chain. Due to parking situation we would consider using Uber or cab to get to the restaurant and leaving the car at the parking garage.

Much to my dismay, friends would prefer no Asian restaurants. We all like seafood but Hemenway's looks too expensive. All of the Providence posts seem to be very old except for a couple that are 2-3 years old. Please help!
