Provence in June with kids

Longtime Chowhound from San Francisco posting... We'll be in Provence for 3 weeks this summer, splitting our time between Arles and Gordes (house rentals). We speak French, will have a car, are well-traveled and mostly well behaved (ages 7 and 9), though we probably cannot pull off extended multi-hour meals more than a few times.. Would love any recommendations for kid-appropriate dining options - we are willing to travel for a good lunch for example!

In addition, any specific dishes we should make sure to order (regional generally, or at a specific town/restaurant/cafe) and specialties we should buy to try at home.

Any recs for activities or must-sees, of course also much appreciated :)
