Propane BBQ Hose Question

simonseys | Jun 10, 2011 03:06 PM

I have both a propane BBQ and a propane smoker. My smoker doesn't have a place to store a tank and the tank has to just sit beside it. I have been using the one tank with both my BBQ and smoker, and disconnecting it and moving it to the other one when I want to use it. Due to the size and arrangement of my outdoor space the two are quite far apart and there aren't many options to situate them closer together.

I was thinking of getting a long BBQ propane hose and running it to the smoker so that when I want to use the smoker I can just turn off and disconnect the BBQ and connect the long hose going the smoker. The only downside is due to the placement of the two the hose itself becomes a tripping hazard. So I was thinking or running it under my deck (non permanently of course) which is two feet off the ground.

What I need to know what if any are the regulations for running propane hoses for BBQ's in Toronto. I have read the TSSA and Firecode and can't find much. I want to make sure what I am doing is not only safe, but doesn't go against any codes.

If anyone any ideas to what flies and what doesn't in our city I'd like to hear about it.
