An acquaintance is opening a new cafe on Orchard Street on the LES this fall and has asked if I'd consider supplying them with a few baked goods, a couple of cakes and maybe some savory tarts. For me, this would be an out-of-my kitchen, strictly-for-the-fun of it, part-time deal. I've checked the New York State Health Department Web site, but they don't have any info that specifically adresses any regulations I'd have to comply with. Can anyone point me in the right direction for this kind of info? Or perhaps a few of you do something similar and already know the NYC/NYS laws on this?
Also, any hints, tips, or admonitions I might not have thought of before agreeing to give this a try?
