Help! Produce storage question

Missy P. | Oct 8, 2003 12:02 AM

I read an article in a waiting room several months ago that described what fruits and vegetables you should NOT store together. I can't remember what magazine it was--something health-related that I wouldn't normally read. Anyway, this article was pretty detailed regarding the various gases produce give off to offend each other. IIRC, there was a long chart that showed which fruits and vegetables should be kept apart. I should have ripped the damn thing out because I can't remember a thing from the article. It said, for example, that melons and apples should be kept separately because the gas given off by the apples will cause the melon to degrade too quickly, rotting it. Or something (that was not an actual example).

Does anyone have any idea where I can get this information? I wouldn't even know what to Google for this info. I want to store by fruits and veggies properly!

Thanks for any leads.
