I'll be in Indy from March 29th till April 1st(half the day) with a friend. I only have things to do on Monday morning/early afternoon and I'm free otherwise. I've lived and worked around NYC tri-state area for the past 5 years and this will be my firs time I'm staying anywhere mid-west for more than a day.
One of the things I'm looking for is a place where I can get preferably a wine paring/tasting dinner(or prix fixe). I'm pretty flexible with the cost, though I probably will be paying the bill for the 'expensive' meals so I can't go too crazy. I'm hoping I luck out and there's a wine tasting dinner going on somewhere on one of those dates.
One limiting thing is that my friend keeps kosher. She's not extremely strict but doesn't eat shellfish (though I made her eat a fanny bay oyster once...) or meat/cheese in the same dish. She doesn't really eat fish either. That said, having those items on the menu is OK, but the menu needs to have enough of choices for a non seafood/shellfish eater.
Anyone have any recommendations? We are staying around the RCA dome and most likely won't be renting a car but don't mind walking or cab if the need be.
I read through the reviews and am pretty keen on going to L'Explorateur, Elements, 14 West, Okaleys and R Bistro. So many places, so little time. Luckley(?) I'll be in Indy a couple of time in the next two years.
thanks in advance everyone!
