Private Dining Sought in Fairfax area

Dakota Guy | Dec 4, 200603:07 PM 3
Washington DC Fairfax

I am planning to host a private dining event for 18-20 people in Jan-Feb. I want an upscale restaurant, a private room, and an a la carte menu. For example, Colvin Run Tavern would be perfect but the room holds a max of 12. Maestro is too pricey. 2941 requires a use of a limited banquet menu. I prefer Fairfax area (not Arlington or ALexandria). Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Have you looked at Le Tire Bouchon in Fairfax City? On their website they mention the # of people they can hold and give sample menus. It's one of my favorite restaurants in the area and I have never had a bad meal there.

While not as upscale as Colvin Run or 2941, Dolce Vita has a separate small building for private parties that they call the Cantina, adjacent to the restaurant. I looked into it for a friend hosting a party a couple years back. If I remember correctly it holds up to 30 people, it has it's own bar and they're flexible with menu options. The space is nice and relatively cozy. Doesn't feel like a banquet hall. I've never eaten there but have always heard good things about the food.

Did you call 2941 or just look at their website? I had my wedding reception there two years ago and customized everything. They had no problem working with me to get the food I wanted. It may have changed since then but I had a good experience.
