Where are the best priced-right oysters in the Houston area?

chilipup | Jan 25, 2011 10:41 AM

I am from all over the Gulf Coast, and oysters on the half shell is my No. 1 "comfort food"...
Ive lived in North Florida and Lousiana most of my years...relocating to Houston/Katy area a few years back.

I saw a post here that recommended Gilhooleys in the Bay area...and sounds like its worth the trip over. Best Ive had since arriving in the area was Christy's on Westheimer...around 10 bucks a dozen but were big, clear, fresh and salty! Worst experience was Captain Tom's in Katy....priced near $5 and....you get what you pay for...not recommended...

Anyone tried Capt Benny's?

Any suggestions and recommendations??? Thanks for ALL replies....Danny///aka Chilipup
