Just got back from a chinese dinner and asked myself for the umpteenth time, "whatever happened to pressed duck"? As a kid in the 50's, I remember getting pressed duck for all my birthdays, at some place on San Pablo Ave. or in Oakland Chinatown. I also remember seeing a duck fed through some gigantic (at least to a kid) silver contraption,( tableside)at a fancy restaurant. So, do they still press ducks and if so where? For Chinese restaurants, is there another name for it? Thanks in advance.
