Grabed some take out last night from the Prep Kitchen in La Jolla. Prep Kitchen is the fast service arm of Whisk n' Ladle. I will definitely be heading back to try more of the menu. Here is a run down of our meal
Muffaletta - house made salumi on a rustic chibatta with provolone and pickled olive/veg salad. This sandwich was a winner, excellent meat, cheese with flavor, and the olive/veg salad kind of married all the flavors together, different than a Central Grocery Muff, but very tasty, more like Donald Link's at Butcher. Bread was tasty, and had good chew. As many muffaletta's, this one benefits from sitting around a while before consumption. Came with chips and a pickle (house made)
Tuna Confit - excellent tuna salad with white beans and a good citrus flavor. Beans were well cooked and had still had some texture, many times I have had this salad elsewhere the beans are all mush and bean skin. The tuna was of high quality and Celery, red onion, and citrus were all present and in the proper ratio (little heavy on the citrus, but I like that)
Greens - good, lots of roasted garlic, I would order again but I prefer my greens with a lots of vinegar and bacon.
