Very preliminary report about New Rochelle bakery

I went to check out The Bread Factory at 30 Grove Avenue (off Centre, west of Main). All the bread is made right there. There are some beautiful loaves. I can only vouch for the baguette that I bought though, an onion baguette, which I'm pretty sure was made with sour dough. I didn't see that on the sign, but it tasted sour to me.
It was a very good loaf, crusty outside and a nice chewy interior. I also bought some pumpernickel dinner rolls that are OK, not quite hard enough for me though. I like to flirt with a visit to the dentist when I bite into a pumpernickel roll.

They have a number of sweet baked things too.

I hope someone else in the neighborhood will check them out. I can eat only so much bread!

Their phone number is 914-637-9514. Pat
